Our Fees
Wills
Our Wills and LPA’s are prepared by both our Director, Jane Lodeto and Hazel Oluwadare, our Solicitor. We offer fixed fees for these services, which are detailed below.
Single Will: £280 + VAT
Mirror Wills: £405 + VAT
Codicil: £130 + VAT
If your Will is complex, such as involving business assets and/or trusts, there may be additional charges. These will be discussed with you at the first no obligation appointment.
We will store your original Wills in our fire proof safes. We also register your Will on the National Wills Database which tells people where their Wills are being kept. We offer both of these services at no extra charge.
We will usually aim to produce first drafts of your Wills within 5 working days of your appointment.
Lasting Powers of Attorney
Our LPA fixed fees include preparation and registration of the documents which enables them to be used.
One LPA (health OR finances): £500 + VAT
Two LPAs (health AND finances): £675 + VAT
Two LPAs (health AND finances) for couple: £1,200 + VAT
There will also be a fee due to the Office of the Public Guardian for registering each LPA of £92. However, you may be entitled to an exemption or 50% remission of the fee.
We will usually prepare your Lasting Power of Attorney for you at the initial appointment. Registration at the OPG currently takes around 4-6 months.
We also offer home visits for Wills and LPAs at no extra charge if within 20 miles of our office.
Business Lasting Powers of Attorney
A Business Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that allows a trusted individual or professional to make business decisions on your behalf if you’re unable to do so. This is crucial for business owners, as it ensures continuity of operations in the event of incapacity, illness, or absence. Business LPA: £600 + VAT
We will usually prepare your Lasting Power of Attorney for you at the initial appointment.
Probate & Administration of Estates Fees
All of our Probate files are run by Jane Lodeto and Hazel Oluwadare. All of Hazel’s work is overseen by Jane. To obtain Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration our fees are:
Estate not liable to Inheritance Tax: £1,250 + VAT
Estate liable to Inheritance Tax: £2000 + VAT
There will also be a fee due to the Probate Registry which is currently £526 plus £2.50 for each copy of the Grant.
If you wish to instruct us to Administer the Estate on your behalf or if we are named in a client’s Will as Executors, our fees are charged on a time recorded basis at our hourly rate. Currently, our basic hourly rate for our Director is £330 plus VAT, £275 plus VAT for our Solicitors, £250 plus VAT for our trainee solicitor and £225 plus VAT for our paralegal. An estimate of the likely overall fees will be given once the details of the estate are known.
It is not appropriate to give an accurate time scale for obtaining Probate as we deal with estate administrations on a case by case basis. However, as an indication, from the date we have details of the value of an estate we would usually have prepared the relevant application and forms within 3 working days. Once you have signed them the Probate Registry generally take around 3 weeks to make the Grant.
We also offer home visits for at no extra charge if within 20 miles of either of our offices.
Family Fees
Our Family Department is run by Jane Lodeto our Director and Family Solicitor. Our services are offered on the basis of time spent on your matter in most cases. However, we do charge a fixed fee for the following services:
Change of Name Deed: £146 + VAT
Consent Order on Finances*: £1,650 + VAT + Court Fee
Consent Order on Children Matters*: £1,650 + VAT + Court Fee
Cohabitation Agreement: starting from £900 + VAT
Declaration of Trust: £650 + VAT
Pre-nuptial Agreement: starting from £1,750 + VAT
Divorce (uncontested): £450 +VAT + Court Fee
Consent Order and Divorce Special*: £1,850 +VAT + Court Fee
*(where all matters are already agreed)
Currently, our basic hourly rate for our Director is £330 plus VAT, £275 plus VAT for our Solicitors, £250 plus VAT for our trainee solicitor and £225 plus VAT for our paralegal. We offer home visits if required at no extra charge if within 20 miles of either of our offices.
Ad Hoc Services
Alongside our private client work, we also offer ad hoc assistance with statutory declarations and affidavits, certified copies and Land Registry ID1 forms.
Prices:
ID1: £100 inc. VAT
Statutory declaration / affidavit: £5 per document (cash only)
Certified copies: £5 per copy (cash only)
Certified copy of an LPA: £35 (cash only)
