Browns Solicitors wills and estate administration - Jane and client

Wills

By making a Will, you can ensure that your estate is shared in accordance with your wishes on your death. It is particularly important if you have children as you can also determine who cares for them. Further, if you are not married to a partner, they will not necessarily be entitled to a part of your estate on your death if you do not have a Will.

We offer reasonable fees for preparing your Will and will also store this for you and register it on the Certainty National Will Register. We also offer a free ‘Will review’ service to discuss your current Will and advise you on any additions or amendments you may wish to make.

Additionally, we give advice on the Inheritance Tax liability of your estate and can discuss ways of reducing that liability and point you in the direction of additional expert financial advice.

Wills Fees

Our Wills and LPA’s are prepared by both our Director, Jane Lodeto and Hazel Oluwadare, our Solicitor.  We offer fixed fees for these services, which are detailed below.

Single Will: £275 + VAT

Mirror Wills: £400 + VAT

Codicil: £125 + VAT

If your Will is complex, such as involving business assets and/or trusts, there may be additional charges.  These will be discussed with you at the first no obligation appointment.

We will store your original Wills in our fire proof safes. We also register your Will on the National Wills Database which tells people where their Wills are being kept.  We offer both of these services at no extra charge.

We will usually aim to produce first drafts of your Wills within 5 working days of your appointment.

Inheritance Tax Planning

Whilst making or reviewing your Wills we can provide you with current Inheritance Tax planning information. The laws have changed in the last 10 years on this issue. We keep abreast of the latest legal changes and can, if required, point you in the direction of relevant financial specialists to assist you further.

The staff were always available to answer any problems.  On numerous occasions the advice and information provided helped with regard to the settlement of the sale of the property.  I would only recommend a company if I myself was satisfied with the service.  The case went through very smoothly and in a very timely manner.

All the staff at Browns Solicitors gave prompt and expert advice during this difficult time.  The level of service from all the staff has been excellent throughout.  I would definitely recommend their services.

Thank you also to all at Browns Solicitors for your help and professionalism during a difficult process.  We both appreciate it and are thankful completion has now taken place.

Thank you for all your help professionalism  and attention during this difficult process. As you can imagine I am relieved it is in conclusion.

About 3 years ago, I asked Jane to do my parents in laws Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPAs). The reason this came about was because my mother in law was becoming affected with dementia, and we knew we had a limited time frame to do it.  Three years later and my mother in law has sadly been diagnosed with Alzheimers and had gone downhill quite suddenly.

Cue me ringing Jane in a panic because it had been 3 years and I couldn’t remember the procedure.  Jane very patiently explained (again!) that all was good to go, and as it was all registered we were ready to use it.  It was a HUGE relief.

The point is that because we had everything in place with Jane’s help we saved ourselves a lot of difficult problems in the future.

Jane is so lovely and great at what she does.  I cannot recommend her highly enough for making sure you and your family’s futures are safe.
